Polished Concrete Process
Our 11-step dry polish takes several days and sometimes weeks to complete. The look is like someone lifted up your house and slid a slab of granite under it. The process itself is derived from the same process, chemicals and tooling that the Terrazzo trade uses. We start with course metals and increase the grits and bonds until a beautiful LUX1, LUX2 or LUX3 finish appears. The process includes filling cracks and spalls, pit grouting, at least one densification step, optional color and 2 burnishing steps. The penetrating acrylic sealer allows your concrete to breathe and provides some stain resistance. This elegant look is also very nice on outdoor patios and offices.
Benefits of polished concrete
Polished concrete is a popular flooring option for many reasons. It is durable, easy to maintain, and can be customized to fit any style or design. Unlike other flooring options, polished concrete is resistant to stains, scratches, and moisture, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Additionally, polished concrete can help improve indoor air quality by reducing the amount of dust and allergens in the air. Overall, polished concrete is a cost-effective and stylish choice for any home or business.
Maintenance and care for polished concrete
While polished concrete is known for its durability and low maintenance, it still requires some care to keep it looking its best. Regular cleaning with a neutral pH cleaner and a microfiber mop is recommended to prevent dirt and debris from scratching the surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the finish. Additionally, it is important to address any spills or stains immediately to prevent them from penetrating the surface. With proper care, polished concrete can last for many years and continue to look beautiful.
